This website uses technical cookies (ASCII format) to guarantee the correct functioning of the portal and improve the user experience related with online apps integrated in the portal. This document provides information on the use of Cookies and similar technologies, and in particular, on how these latter are used by the website and how they can be managed.
Cookies are small lines of text (ASCII format) which the portal sends to users directly to their computers, where they are stored and then re-transmitted to the same portal at the next visit. So-called “third-party” cookies, on the other hand, are set by a website different from the one the user is visiting (for this reason they are called “third-party”). In fact, on every website there can be elements (such as images, maps, sound, specific links to webpages of other domains, etc.) that are located on servers other than the one of the website you are visiting.
According to their characteristics and use, Cookies may be divided into:
a) Technical cookies. Technical cookies are used only to “transfer a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the supplier of an information society service specifically requested by the subscriber or user to provide such service” (see Article 122, paragraph 1 of the Code). These are not used for other purposes and, as a rule, they are installed directly by the owner or manager of the website. They can be divided into navigation cookies or session cookies, which guarantee a regular navigation and use of the website; Cookies analytics are similar to technical cookies if used directly by the manager of the website to collect information, in an aggregate form, on the number of users and on how they visit the website; lastly, Functionality Cookies allow the user to navigate, based on a set of criteria that are selected to improve the service. To install such cookies, the prior consent of the users is not necessary. The notice under Article 13 of the Code is still mandatory, but if the manager of the website uses only these devices, such notice can be provided in the way deemed most appropriate.
B) Profiling cookies. Profiling cookies are used to create user’s profiles and to send adverts in line with the preferences shown while navigating on the web. Considering how intrusive such devices can be to a user’s personal life, EU and Italian legislations require to adequately inform each user on their use, and obtain his/her valid consent. Article 122 of the Code in fact states that ‘the storage of information on the computer of a client or user or the access to information which had already been stored is only allowed if the client or user has expressed his/her consent after being informed in accordance with Article 13 paragraph 3’ (Article 122 paragraph 1 of the Code). This website does not use profiling cookies.
When visiting this website, you may receive cookies managed by others (“third-party”). This happens, for instance, for “Social Plugins”, namely Facebook, Twitter, Google+ or LinkedIn, or embedded multimedia content visualization systems (Youtube, Flikr, inter alia). These are parts directly generated by the above websites and embedded in the page of the hosting website you are visiting. The presence of these Plugins entails the transmission of Cookies to and from websites managed by third parties. The management of information collected by “third parties” is regulated by the relevant notice, to which we refer. For transparency and convenience, the links to these cookie notices and use policies are provided below.

Some cookies (also called Session cookies) are active until you close the browser or you log out. Other Cookies “survive” the closure of the browser and are available also in the following user’s visit / session. These Cookies are called persistent and their duration is established by the server when they are created. In some cases, there is a deadline, in other cases their duration is unlimited.
Users can decide to accept or not Cookies by using the settings of the browser. Please note: if you disable technical Cookies, even in part, the website may not work correctly. If you disable “third-party” cookies, you can still navigate with no problems. Different settings can be specified for each website and web app. Also, browsers allow to choose different cookie settings depending on if they are “owner’s” or “third-party’s”. For example, in Firefox, if you go to Menu Tools->Options->Privacy you can access the Control panel where you can choose whether or not you want to accept cookies (and which of them) and also remove them. On the internet, it is easy to find instructions on how to set Cookie management rules for your browser, for example here you have some links regarding the main web browsers:
